Italians on the Move is a series of environmental portraits and research based on the young Italians who moved to Toronto, Canada, within the last decade. The project wants to showcase their faces and stories, thus raising awareness about migration and integration in Toronto through the experiences of each subject. The photographs were taken in the work environment to contextualize the story and showcase the variety of opportunities that this young city has to offer. However, the ultimate goal is to build a bridge that connects different generations of Italians and Italo-Canadians in Toronto who are not aware of a new migration flow from the “Bel Paese” with the intent to renew the community through the exchange of their resources to keep alive the Italian tradition and culture in Toronto, which is a heritage to be preserved.
